We started doing these “Celebrating the Year” sheets about eight years ago. It’s fun for the kids to have a record of what they liked and how their tastes and interests have changed (or how they’ve stayed the same) over the years. I thought I’d remember every milestone and everything the four of them ever said or did, but the years go by and new memories pile on and it’s hard to remember every single thing. So it’s good to write stuff down when you can, and this is an easy way to create a snapshot of an entire year. It’s fun for me and Tim to have these snapshots of our lives, too.
If you have younger kids, you can “interview” them and write down their answers. They can add some illustrations or, if they’re really little, you can trace their hand on the front or back of the sheet.
You can find the printable here. Happy New Year!
