When I took the Christmas art down, this is what went back up in the Frame. It wasn’t particularly planned, but I like how it turned out.
I would never choose favorites, of course, but I really love Lexie’s sea turtle (in the lower left corner). And Lily’s Matisse-inspired giraffe. And Will’s 3-D project featuring a lesson on perspective. (Hmm…I just realized there’s nothing up there from Andrew. I’ll have to dig something out of the archives, aka, the large plastic bin that I keep his stuff in.)
How do you manage kids’ art in your home? Do you save every scribble? Or do you (or your kids) pick and choose? Do you cover the walls with their artwork or do you keep it to one place, like the refrigerator? If your kids are grown, did the art go with them or are you holding on to it?
That’s a lot of questions, but I’m curious!

Love it! Children’s art is one of my favorite things! We went to Simply Jane Art Studio is Mpls. yesterday and had so much fun creating!

I hadn’t heard of Simply Jane, so I looked it up online just now. What a cool concept! I think these creative studios are getting more and more popular; I just read about one where you can make cards and other paper-related projects.

My father in law made us a large bulletin board with thick white trim and a shelf for pencils & pins. We hang the calendar on it and every other inch of it is covered in the kids art, which is swapped out seasonally. They love having their projects on display, and I love that it’s contained. Once in a while we all go through their art and they decide which are their faves and we recycle the rest.

These are great ideas. I really like the frame concept! We have just been storing items in bins and I try to get around to scanning them into the computer so that we have digital copies ( but I have never been very good at keeping up).

Here’s a link to the bulletin board Rosa mentioned. It’s one of many great ideas in her fabulous kitchen.
