Over the weekend, Lily and I put together these Crayon Heart Valentines. I am amazed at Lily’s willingness to patiently unwrap crayon after crayon. The full tutorial for heart crayons is here. If you make these, be sure to use either a silicone mold (I found ours at Target) or prepare a metal pan with cooking spray so your crayons don’t stick. I hear it’s a huge pain to clean them out if you don’t.
For packaging, we cut out squares of different scrapbook papers, folded them in half, and stapled them to small cellophane bags. Then I printed these color-related puns onto white card stock, cut them out with scallop-edged scissors, and glued them to the scrapbook paper. Done!
[ Update: I thought of another pun! “You had me at yellow.” Yes? No? Maybe? ]

Well done Lily and Mum! Those are lovely Valentine crayons. Thanks for the tip re spraying a pan first before melting wax.

Thank you! I hope the spraying works–I haven’t actually tried a metal pan myself so I’m sort of going on faith.
